Church World Service (CWS) Seeks Key Roles for Africa Operations

Church World Service (CWS), a cooperative ministry founded in 1946, is on a mission to eradicate hunger and poverty while promoting peace and justice globally. The organization, which collaborates with 37 Christian denominations, is currently recruiting for two pivotal positions in its Africa operations.

Security Risk Management Specialist

The Security Risk Management Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of all RSC operations. This position involves supporting and implementing security policies, providing operational security support, and leading special security projects. The specialist will also assist in developing and delivering internal security training programs in collaboration with the RSC Africa training unit. Key responsibilities include compiling weekly security updates, conducting international staff residential surveys, and completing security assessments. The role reports to the Security Risk Manager and serves as the primary focal point for daily security risk operations.

Regional Finance Director

The Regional Finance Director (RFD) will head the finance department for CWS RSC Africa, overseeing finance administration, fiscal management, and financial reporting. The RFD will lead the annual budget preparation, financial planning, and management for offices in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda. Responsibilities include managing payroll and payables operations, preparing financial statements, and supporting the development and improvement of financial systems. The RFD will work closely with the CWS Chief Financial Officer and be part of the RSC Africa Senior Management team, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring a productive work environment.
