Country Lead Route to Market
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. CCBA is a market leader in the Non-Alcoholic Ready-to-Drink (NARTD) market in Africa, with an extensive footprint across the continent. CCBA employs approximately 14,000 people in Africa, including around 7,000 employees in South Africa.
Key Purpose Statement
The Country Lead Route To Market is responsible for developing and continuously improving the Route-to-Market structure. This role aims to enhance efficiencies in product distribution and ensure a sustained competitive advantage from both strategic and operational viewpoints, consistent with best practices across the country. The objective is to grow the market effectively.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop Effective CDE Strategies:
Implement strategies to reduce waste and achieve world-class operations in terms of technology, processes, people, reward systems, costs, and CDE (Cooler & Dispensing Equipment) operations. - Oversee CDE Transformational Projects:
Direct and manage transformational projects to capture value and improve operations. - Leadership & Development:
Provide direction, leadership, and development to ensure the execution of plans that optimize operations and meet customer service levels. - Alignment & Standardization:
Ensure alignment of activities within CDE with the broader business, and standardize productivity measurements across CDE operations. - Drive Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Foster a culture of empowerment, accountability, forward-thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement within teams. - In-Trade Equipment Management:
Develop an in-trade equipment plan aligned with channel strategy. - Procurement & Maintenance Oversight:
Manage all procurement, distribution, maintenance, security, SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality), and refurbishment of all CCBA coolers. - CDE Performance Improvement:
Continuously seek ways to improve the overall performance of the CDE function and the company.
Skills, Experience & Education
Experience
- Extensive experience in managing and coordinating teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant corporate experience.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a Sales role with a focus on building capability.
- Experience in multiple regions will be an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of Sales Force Effectiveness and Third-Party Management/Distribution models.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across multiple functions, business units, and teams.
Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or any other business-related field.
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
