Environmental Health and Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor safety, health, and environmental policies and programs.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001).
Carry out site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
Promote a culture of safety awareness across all levels of the organization.
Investigate accidents or incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Prepare and submit necessary safety reports and documentation.
Ensure adherence to KPLC security guidelines and regulations, particularly in solar and high voltage power projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

Degree/Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
Certification in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is an added advantage.
3+ years of experience in an EHS role, specifically in solar and high voltage power projects.
Strong understanding of KPLC security guidelines and electrical safety protocols.
Spearhead health and safety in projects relating to Base Transmission Stations (BTS).
Experience or understanding of the telecommunication industry (fiber rollout) is an added advantage.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
