The Health and Nutrition Research Intern position at World Vision is a remote, part-time internship opportunity in the U.S., ideal for those pursuing or having completed a Master’s in Public Health. This internship provides hands-on experience in international health and nutrition research, focusing on improving child well-being through innovative health interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Support: Assist in research activities and analyze qualitative data from focus groups, interviews, and surveys.
  • Data Analysis: Gain skills in qualitative data analysis (using MaxQDA) and quantitative data analysis (using SPSS).
  • Study Participation: Engage in weekly study meetings, understand study protocols, and contribute to coding and writing up key findings.
  • Project Focus: Contribute to projects such as reducing adolescent anemia in Mozambique, testing a multi-diagnostic pulse oximeter in Burundi, and evaluating a laser height device in Cambodia.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Education: Enrolled in or completed a Master’s in Public Health or related field.
  • Research Skills: Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Global Health Knowledge: Understanding of global health and nutrition.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to collaborate with international staff while maintaining cultural awareness.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate them effectively.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Work well both independently and in a virtual team environment.
  • Commitment: Align with World Vision’s mission and values, and demonstrate enthusiasm for making a positive impact.

Internship Details:

  • Location: Remote (within specific U.S. states).
  • Duration: January 27 – April 25.
  • Hours: 20-40 hours per week.
  • Stipend: $800/month.
  • Eligibility: Must be 18 or older, eligible to work in the U.S., and able to commit to the full internship period.
