Senior Accountant, Credit Controls – (2400003B)
Job Purpose and Key responsibilities
Job Purpose
The position facilitates the proper recording of financial transactions and providing information and /or
reports derived from the same. Will also be responsible for credit control, premium allocation among other
duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of premium register and ensuring correct posting in the ERP system within timelines.
- Ensure all requisitions are done in the system through EFT and strict adherence to the budgets.
- Ensure Bank reconciliations are done on time and all issues resolved within shortest time possible without exceeding 30 days.
- Ensuring commissions are fully paid within 7 days.
- Ensuring claims are processed, approved and paid within 10 days.
- Maintenance of fixed asset register.
- Capitalization of assets & and depreciation of assets.
- End month closure of ERP modules namely Cash module, Purchasing, Stores, & AP modules.
- Reconciliation of disputed balances by debtors.
- Making follow up Calls for premium from debtors.
- Ensuring all credits in the bank are receipted and allocations done.
- Follow up on debits not raised with underwriters.
- Processing refund premiums.
- Preparation of Debtors report.
- Sending statements to intermediaries.
- Facilitating Credit Control Committee meetings.
- General ledger account analysis.
- Actively combat fraud by ensuring thorough review of commissions request, claims payments & expenses.
- Provision of relevant schedules to the auditors during the audit period.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent.
- Pursuing professional qualifications in CPA or ACCA.
- At least one (3) year experience in a similar or equivalent position.
- Computerized accounting applications such ERP will be an added advantage
