Job Brief

The Collections Officer will be responsible for ensuring focused attention on and closely monitoring the performance of an assigned loan portfolio of accounts in early arrears by identifying, reviewing, monitoring and implementing collections’ action plans to ensure good portfolio performance across all the product lines.

Description

Demand, and enforce repayment of the assigned portfolio and achieve set targets.
Conduct detailed negotiations with defaulters, obtain commitment to implement appropriate strategies and actions to cure accounts as well as collect overdue payments.
Manage client relationships where turnaround strategies have been activated.
Responsible for maximizing recoveries from written-off accounts.
Coordinate daily execution of debt follow-up by phone, visits, and recovery.
Identifying and applying the most efficient communication tactics to persuade overdue clients to close their loans and return to payment compliance
Maintaining records and providing daily feedback on the outcome of assignments and the number of collections to the Credit manager
Inform management on the trends in loan disbursements that contribute to delinquency.
Ensure all penalties arising from late repayments are followed up and collected.
Work closely with external agencies and vendors on debt collection and recoveries.
Ensure all demand letters are duly and timely issued and clients are informed of the steps to be taken.
Adhere to the set policy on loan recoveries and collections.
Perform any other related function as assigned to by the management from time to time.
