Nairobi, Kenya—Synnefa, a leading innovator in modern farming solutions, is looking for a passionate Hardware Engineer Attaché to join its dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the production and field maintenance of cutting-edge IoT devices.

Position Overview: The Hardware Engineer Attaché will work closely with Synnefa’s engineering team, contributing to the assembly, testing, and maintenance of IoT devices. This position is designed to provide practical insights into hardware engineering within a startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Support: Collaborate with the production team to assist in assembling and testing IoT devices. Learn and apply hardware quality control processes to ensure product reliability. Participate in optimizing production processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Field Maintenance Assistance: Support field maintenance activities by assisting in device inspections, troubleshooting, and component replacement. Work alongside experienced engineers to diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues in the field. Learn and adhere to field maintenance protocols and safety procedures.
  • Hardware Testing: Assist in hardware testing procedures to validate product performance and functionality. Gain hands-on experience with testing tools and methodologies. Collaborate with the engineering team to document and report test results.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Contribute to maintaining documentation related to hardware designs, production processes, and field maintenance procedures. Assist in creating reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications: Candidates should be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A passion for hardware engineering and IoT technology and a strong interest in gaining practical experience in production and field maintenance are essential. A basic understanding of hardware design concepts and electronics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are also required. Enthusiasm for learning, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment are crucial.
