They offer air evacuation services in medical emergencies, air ambulance transfers between medical facilities, and repatriation services to Europe, Asia, and North America. With a fleet of five dedicated ambulance aircraft, they can evacuate patients from any location in Africa to anywhere in the world. 3. Overall Responsibility
The Operations Intern will assist in coordinating flights, ensuring safety, and compliance with aviation regulations during service delivery. This includes tasks like flight planning, communicating with aircraft commanders, monitoring flight operations, and providing administrative support to the Operations Department.
4. Key Responsibilities
- Flight Operations:
- Assist in coordinating and executing daily flight activities to meet client expectations and aviation requirements.
- Contribute to flight planning and dispatch processes, following company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure timely completion and submission of flight plans for active flights.
- Facilitate the clearance process by delivering manifests to immigration offices.
- Maintain comprehensive records, including flight and event logs, aircrew flying records, and flight operations records.
- Flight Monitoring & Effective Communication:
- Manage air-to-ground and point-to-point radio communication with aircraft commanders.
- Enter relevant flight information into the company database and manage post-flight filing of flight operations documents.
- Flight Operations Administration:
- Provide administrative assistance to the Operations Department, including organizing and replenishing stationery supplies.
- Handle additional work-related assignments from the Operations Manager and duty officer.
5. Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Flight Operations/Dispatch
- Skills:
- Knowledge in radio communication
- Proficiency in computer studies (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet)
- Ability to work in teams and independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management skills
- Dependable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, confident, and detail-oriented
