Health NGOs Network

The Health NGOs Network (HENNET) is inviting qualified consultants to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a consultancy focused on conducting a landscape analysis of immunization and primary health care in Kenya. This project aims to develop a strategic framework for sustainable immunization financing, considering the current challenges and opportunities within Kenya’s health sector.

Title: Advocacy for Immunization and Primary Health Care in Kenya

Objectives:

    1. Analyze the current immunization landscape in Kenya, including costs, financing, and supply chain issues.
    2. Develop a domestic resource mobilization strategy for sustainable immunization financing.
    3. Provide strategic options for decision-makers to secure long-term, reliable funding for immunization.

About The Work

  1. Context Analysis: Evaluate the macroeconomic impact on the health sector and immunization system in Kenya.
  2. Cost Analysis: Assess the total and per-child costs of immunization, including equity in vaccine distribution.
  3. Financing Analysis: Examine current and projected funding sources, and identify any financial gaps.
  4. Domestic Resource Mobilization Strategy: Propose strategies to enhance domestic funding for immunization, including potential partnerships and risk assessments.

  • Analytical report on immunization financing in Kenya.
  • Report on immunization coverage and equity-related issues.
  • Domestic Resource Mobilization Strategy.
  • Executive summary and advocacy brief for key decision-makers.

Consultant Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Science, Health Economics, or Public Health.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health financing or budget advocacy in Kenya.
  • Familiarity with health budgeting and the WHO One Health tool is advantageous.
