Senior Fullstack Software Developer Needed at ERM in Nairobi

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Developer to join their team in Nairobi on a contract basis. ERM, which established its Nairobi office in 2014, continues to expand its presence in East Africa to support both global and local clients

Job Responsibilities: 

The successful candidate will work in an Agile environment, spending 90% of their time writing code and the remaining time collaborating with the team. Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing scalable solutions.
• Collaborating with peers in code reviews.
• Working with product managers and designers to conceptualize new features.
• Providing recommendations and solutions to project challenges.

Requirements: 

Applicants must have a university degree in programming, computer science, or a related field, along with a portfolio of applications and programs. The role requires:

• A solid understanding of application design using Laravel.
• Problem-solving skills and a critical mindset.
• 6-7 years of experience in software development, particularly in building highly scalable web applications.
• Creativity and lateral thinking.
• Effective communication skills.

Technical Skills:

 Candidates should have:

• Excellent understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented design principles.
• Core knowledge of PHP frameworks, with a preference for Laravel.
• Proficiency in software testing using PHPUnit.
• Experience with Vue JS, MySQL, and frontend tools like CSS/HTML/Javascript/Tailwind/AlpineJS.
• Experience with AWS and building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
