Flutterwave is searching for an accomplished Senior Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to play a pivotal role in guiding the company’s strategic financial decisions as it progresses towards becoming IPO-ready. This New York-based, hybrid role reports directly to the CFO and works closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team. The SVP of FP&A will be instrumental in aligning financial strategies with corporate objectives, ensuring that financial planning supports business growth and optimizes overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Alignment: Design and align financial performance management and planning with Flutterwave’s strategic objectives. Collaborate across business and support units to ensure financial planning drives the company’s goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish strong engagement models with departments such as sales, product, engineering, marketing, operations, and HR to integrate financial insights into decision-making. This collaboration will ensure a holistic view of business performance.
  • Data Integration: Build processes and infrastructure to leverage advanced data analytics, integrating data from various sources to provide comprehensive insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Proactive Decision Support: Develop a team structure that proactively offers decision support through scenario analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring. Utilize data and analytics to help business units make informed decisions.

First-Year Focus:

  • Financial Forecasting: Oversee the financial performance management process to provide timely and actionable insights, keeping teams aligned with strategic goals.
  • Budget Management: Manage the budgeting process and its infrastructure to effectively model Flutterwave’s business dynamics, supporting sound decision-making.
  • Financial Analysis: Promote a firm-wide culture of data-driven decision-making by delivering in-depth financial analysis and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-impact team capable of growing alongside the company as it expands globally.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 15-20 years of progressive experience in financial planning, data analytics, strategy, and reporting, with at least 8-10 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Expertise: Proven ability in financial performance management, strategic financial analysis, business partnering, and leveraging data-driven insights to inform decisions.
  • Financial Systems Knowledge: Experience designing and implementing financial planning processes, financial modeling, and familiarity with ERP systems, BI tools, and advanced Excel modeling.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong track record in leading and managing a team of finance professionals, driving process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed (10-25%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth financial technology company, particularly in payments, is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data analysis tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Problem-Solving: A problem-solver with a bias towards action, driven by first principles thinking.
  • Passion: Enthusiasm for new technology and the potential of emerging markets.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $180,000 – $239,000 per year, commensurate with experience and industry standards.

  • Retirement Plan: 401(k) plan with a company match of up to 6% of salary.
