Equity Bank Kenya Seeks Business Risk and Controls Specialist

Equity Bank Kenya is on the lookout for a Business Risk and Controls Specialist to join their team. This full-time position, based in Nairobi, is open to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, Risk Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification, such as Certified Risk Management Professional or Certified Internal Auditor, is considered a plus.

The role is pivotal in developing and implementing a risk management strategy that aligns with the bank’s business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the organization against potential threats and uncertainties, promoting a proactive approach to risk management, and ensuring business resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement Risk Management Strategy: Align the strategy with the bank’s strategic objectives.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and assess risks across various business functions and maintain an up-to-date risk register.
• Policy and Procedure Establishment: Create and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
• Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement internal and external audit recommendations.
• Training and Leadership: Train employees on risk awareness and mitigation strategies, and manage a team of risk management professionals.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in risk management, internal controls, or a related field within a corporate environment. They should also possess strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
