Nyeri County Government Announces Job Openings
The County Government of Nyeri has announced a recruitment drive to fill various vacant positions across multiple departments. The positions are open to competent and qualified individuals who meet the specified requirements. The terms of service for these roles are on a three-year contract basis, although those currently serving on permanent terms will continue under their substantive permanent and pensionable terms.
Interested and eligible employees are required to fill out the Employment Form available on the County Government’s website (www.nyeri.go.ke). Completed application forms, along with the Head of Department Recommendation, Staff Performance Appraisal Report for 2023/2024, letter of appointment/promotion to the current substantive grade, and certified copies of academic and professional certificates, should be sent or delivered to the Secretary, Nyeri County Public Service Board, P.O. Box 90-10100, Nyeri. Applications must be received by 5:00 pm on September 10, 2024.

Department of Water, Environment, and Climate Change
- Administration Officer III, Job Group ‘H’ (2 Posts)
- Duties and Responsibilities: Planning office accommodation and layout, facilitating transport and travel services, maintaining and updating furniture and office equipment inventory, facilitating movement of assets, general maintenance of buildings and furniture, logistics for meetings and events, collecting and collating data on developmental activities, and public participation awareness.
- Requirements: Kenyan citizenship, KCPE and KCSE certificates, a diploma in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Community Development, or Social Studies, and a minimum of three years of public service experience.
Office of the County Attorney
- Legal Officer I, Job Group ‘M’ (3 Posts)
- Duties and Responsibilities: Representing the county government in court, monitoring external counsel, linking staff designated as witnesses to counsel, providing legislative support, offering legal advice, vetting, drafting, and interpreting legal documents.
- Requirements: Kenyan citizenship, KCPE and KCSE certificates, advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate, postgraduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, LL.B degree, and a minimum of three years of post-admission experience.
- Office Administrative Assistant II, Job Group ‘H’ (2 Posts)
- Duties and Responsibilities: Managing front office clients, filing legal documents, serving legal documents, cataloguing case files, attending court registries, supporting compliance and legal risk management, general administrative duties.
- Requirements: Diploma in Business Administration or Business Management, or a higher diploma in Front Office Operation and Administration, KCPE and KCSE certificates, three years of public service experience, knowledge of court procedures, and a process service certificate from the High Court is an added advantage.
Department of Health Services
- Clerical Officer III, Job Group ‘F’ (5 Posts)
- Duties and Responsibilities: Compiling statistical records, sorting and dispatching letters, maintaining an efficient filing system, processing HR-related duties, computing financial or statistical records, preparing payment vouchers, compiling data, and drafting simple letters.
- Requirements: Kenyan citizenship, KCSE/KACE certificate, and a certificate in business management, accounts, finance, procurement and supplies, human resources, ICT, records management, secretarial, or library services.
- Support Staff, Job Group ‘D’ (9 Posts)
- Duties and Responsibilities: Messengerial duties, office cleanliness and maintenance, preparing tea, opening and closing offices.
- Requirements: Kenyan citizenship, KCSE certificate, good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Human Resource Management Assistant III, Job Group ‘H’ (2 Posts)
- Duties and Responsibilities: Performing HR management duties under supervision, verifying recruitment information, processing HR cases, supervising clerical staff.
- Requirements: Kenyan citizenship, KCSE/KACE certificate.
